SYNOPSIS
For the past years, the CCCI Tourism Team has served as the advocate of valuable tourism thrusts and the channel for creating, developing and sustaining programs in promoting Cebu as the premier tourist destination as well as the hub for business/ investment/trade; arts, culture and heritage; education and ecology; entertainment, leisure and the performing arts.
It sought to assemble committed tourism leaders and stakeholders from the public and private sectors; academe; travel and hotel practitioners; LGU’s and media to look into making Cebu more fun and competitive by assessing current concerns and issues, specifically the conceptual framework of the DOT’s “ It’s More Fun in the Philippines and Branding of Cebu, sharing of success stories in Tourism Marketing from the representatives of the International Tourism Board and sharing of the three key points/ingredients of Airline and Hotel success.

One of the biggest events of the CBM 2013 is the TOURISM CONGRESS with the theme: POWER UP TOURISM! Cebu’s cutting edge will place it in the global market, through extensive information, connecting with counterparts, addressing advocacies; and expanding to tourism-related business, investments and cultural exchanges.
This year’s Tourism Congress will have its opening ceremonies, introduction of the guests and speakers, messages, talks on conceptual framework of DOT’s “It’s More Fun in the Philippines and Branding of Cebu, interactive discussion/forum, a sharing of success stories from the representatives of the International Tourism Board and sharing of the three key points/ingredients of Airline and Hotel Success.

Date: June 21, 2013 (Friday, 6:00 to 9:00 pm)
Venue: Marco Polo Plaza Cebu
There will also be a Cebu City Tourism Night reserved for the City of Cebu. It will showcase the tourism programs of the City of Cebu. One of the highlights of this event is the Awards and Citations. A plaque of Leadership and Tourism Advocacy will be conferred on Atty. Anastacio Muntuerto Jr. for his exemplary leadership as a President of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry from 1998-1999; conceptualization of the Grand Chamber Awards and active involvement in CBM’s Tourism Congress, specifically on advocacies on Tourism and related area. There will also be a plaque of Merit will be conferred to Dr. Potenciano “Yong” Larrazabal III for his initiatives in gearing sports and medical tourism to Community Outreach Programs through the Run for the Sight and Sight Foundation Inc.

Date: June 22, 2013 (Saturday, 1:00pm to 5:00 pm)
Venue: Activity Center, Ayala Center Cebu
The ARTS AND CULTURE-TALENTO CEBUANO AND P.E.O.P.L.E Success stories (Year 5) will be featuring Young Cebuano talents. There will be a presentation of an unheard success stories and a special citation. It is co-sponsored by GMA7, Ayala and Speechcom. A plaque of Recognition will be conferred to Ms. Jessica Apawan for her success from the retailing to wholesaling and to Ms. Gerlie Las Piñas for her exemplary musical talents through Cebuano song, and another award will also be conferred to the Ng Family for its initiatives in synergizing music and culture with tourism promotions through the formation of Asian Troubadors and Lakwatsa. The event will showcase successful local and GMA7 talents. The event promotes Cebu as an entertainment Hub of Asia.

- D. Cebu Great Sale
One of the major events being lined up for the CBM 2013 is the launching and staging of the GREAT CEBU SALE, which will be promoted not only region wide but as well as in national and international stage. Will invite several organization from hotels, restaurants, furniture, ICT/BPO, malls and among others. It is to heighten the city’s business community and make Cebu as a shopping destination in the country.
