CBM at 15: Going beyond boundaries
The spark plug that is Cebu Business Month (CBM) is one that connects all circuits of Cebu's economic and social landscape transforming it into a powerhouse that lights up all known aspect of trade and business in this part of the archipelago. And this spark plug continues to perform its job of enabling people and business for fifteen electrifying years--an achievement that members of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) can be truly proud of. Â This year, under the leadership of Virgilio "Nonoy" Espeleta, CCCI embarks in a bolder and more pronounced CBM as it embraces the theme "Business Beyond Boundaries."
Beyond boundaries
Espeleta says they are sustaining the momentum which has been started since CBM's Birth in 1996. Last year's theme, "Get Inspired! Go Green!" enable this year's organizing committee to start its strategic planning with a more vibrant energy.  CBM 2011 is about engaging more business stakeholders to advocate and craft continuing and sustainable economically-including activities that will enable Cebu business to achieve their highest potential.
This year's business month continues to push its three mainstream thrust-tourism, information and communication technology/business process outsourcing (ICT/BPO) and entrepreneurship-micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs)--alongside encouraging business to go out of their comfort zones  and consider more bolder yet productive business decission that will ensure sustained growth in their respective industries. It's business beyond boundaries because we are encouraging business to move to the next level regardless of what industry they are in. This Business month hopes to inspire, enable, push, business to move forward," says Espeleta. While CBM is technically labeled as a "month-long affair," the celebration does not only end after June. Hence, CCCI noted three elements that define CBM 2011, First, it is the culmination of the year -long events organized by CCCI and partners(events held and organized after CBM 2010). Second, the launching of continuing and follow-through business support activities beyond June. And third, the celebration of business success with awards and recognition.
